About

Me, in a tunnel in an aquarium, with a very smiley manta ray

Quickly: I went to Smith College and the University of Hull, and studied detective fiction in both places.

I live in New England and I keep myself busy with an array of hobbies to distract myself from screens (this has had limited success).

My non-crime-fiction-related interests include women’s communities, historical mundanity, folk ballads, miniatures, tutoring, the mountains and the forests and the rivers, archives, puzzles, old churches, games (board and video), opera, the 19th century novel, and linguistics. Also many other things. Probably.
